DIY Lemongrass Bath Bombs – Get Green Be Well

These DIY lemongrass bath bombs are naturally colored with French green clay. Fragranced with essential oils, the fresh citrus scent of these natural bath bombs is energizing and uplifting!

Why Use Lemongrass Bath Bombs?

Lemongrass essential oil is not one of the most popular oils to use in body care products, but maybe it should be!

This essential oil is extracted from the lemongrass plant and has the following beneficial properties:

  • Antifungal
  • Antibacterial
  • Antiinflammatory
  • Stress Reducing
  • Relieves Anxiety

French green clay is great for detoxifying the skin, as well as clarifying the skin by absorbing excess oil. The muted green color in these bath bombs comes from the green clay.

Epsom salts are known for helping aching muscles and adding magnesium.

DIY Lemongrass Bath Bombs

This homemade lemongrass bath bombs recipe makes 7 small bath bombs. You just need 10 minutes to mix together the ingredients, but allow 6-8 hours to set.

Step 1

Add the baking soda, citric acid, Epsom salts, cornstarch, and French green clay to a medium bowl. Stir with the whisk for 2-3 minutes until the dry ingredients are completely combined.

Step 2

Pour the sweet almond oil, water, and essential oils into a small jar, and secure the lid. Shake the jar vigorously to combine the liquid ingredients. Alternatively, you can add to a small bowl and stir together vigorously until combined.

Step 3

Very slowly, whisk the liquid into the dry mixture Be sure to whisk the entire time so you don’t activate the fizzing properties in the bath bombs.

Step 4

Scoop the mixture into each half of the bath bomb mold, then press together, and give a quick twist.

Step 5

Allow the bath bombs to set for 6-8 hours. Remove from the molds, and store in an airtight container.

Store in a cool, dry place for 3-6 months.

How to Use These Bath Bombs

To use lemongrass bath bombs, drop one into a warm or hot bath. The bath bomb will dissolve slowly, releasing its beneficial properties into the bath water that you soak in.
