Hotel Review: GRAND SUMMIT HOTEL in General Santos City

Grand Summit Hotel is GenSan’s Premier Address
The Tuna Capital of the Philippines, General Santos, is a gateway to many destinations in Mindanao. With only a few hours away from Davao, Cotabato, Sarangani, and Sultan Kudarat, it’s also ideal to get accommodation in GenSan, especially if you are arriving at General Santos International Airport.
One of the best choices for hotels here is the Grand Summit Hotel which is immersed in the heart of the city. As the newest upscale brand of Robinsons Hotels and Resorts, it is not just a place where guests can stay while traveling, but it is also a lifestyle destination where they can work, play, and celebrate special moments.
HOTEL LOCATION
Even when you just want to explore the corners of the city, the Grand Summit Hotel is still a great pick with its proximity that gives convenient access for every traveler’s need.
Grand Summit Hotel is at the corner of two busy streets – Honorio Arriola Street and Arrazada Street – just a few steps away from Robinsons Place GenSan and Socsargen County Hospital and a 30-minute drive from the airport.
ARRIVAL EXPERIENCE
We arrived at the hotel just in time for the standard check-in. Upon entering the elegant lobby, the hotel staff handed us refreshing drinks with huge smiles. The check-in process was easy, and they immediately offered help to bring our bags to our rooms. This really made a difference to us who were coming from an afternoon flight, and gave me an impression of their warm and unsurpassed hospitality.
ROOMS
Grand Summit Hotel offers premium staycations where every guest can truly take a good rest. They have deluxe rooms and the Morrow & Odi Suites, all carefully designed for maximum comfort and pleasure.
Perfect for families or big groups, the Morrow & Odi suites measure 107 sqm and have 1 king-size bed and 1 twin bed. It features a kitchenette for coffee or tea-making, ample desk space for working and dining, and a separate bedroom and living room.
The deluxe rooms are 36 sqm big with a deluxe king-size bed, a minibar, a space for coffee and tea-making, and an area for working and dining as well.
FOOD
On the ground floor of the hotel, you’ll find Cafe Summit, their sophisticated all-day dining that offers delectable regional delicacies. Of course, we had to try their tuna dishes, such as Sashimi which was really good, juicy, and fresh, and their addicting and flavorful Tuna Sisig. We also ordered their hearty Bulalo, Pork Humba, and Pork Crackling Kare-Kare.
Mornings are fun and visually exciting because their breakfast buffet serves a wide variety of food. From bread, salads, meats, hot dishes, noodles, desserts, and the enticing aroma of brewed coffee that spreads across the hall, we felt satisfied as we started our day.
RESORT FACILITIES
There’s no dearth of leisure and wellness activities that you can do at the Grand Summit Hotel. You can swim, lounge by the pool, relax, and have your quiet time at the spa.
You can also request a massage in your room, and if you’re in the mood to exercise and sweat the tiring day away, you can also access their gym with a dedicated area for cardio, stretching, and weight lifting.
DEPARTURE
Checking out was quick and efficient. After handing out the room key cards, they immediately processed them and checked if the payments needed to be made. Aside from the fast and courteous service, I liked how they always make it a point to give clear and concise information from check-in to check-out.
